The Tao of Personal Myths: A Brief Explanation Why Bilbo and Aragorn Are My Personal Myths

Oh jeez, I am in a hurry this morning. I hope I can tackle this topic in 25 minutes of writing!

Here’s the idea.

I want to catch you up, even if just a little bit, on my efforts and inquiries into how I am getting out on a Highway to Yeah.

I have been having some significant breakthroughs in thinking this past week.

Thus, I want to avoid getting out over my skis, as the saying goes.

If you’ve been reading along, you’ve likely picked up that I am a huge fan of J. R. R. Tolkien’s masterworks, and have found two distinct personal myths that really stand out for me in these stories.

One is Bilbo Baggins. I am most like this character in these stories. It’s a visceral sensation.

The other is Aragorn. I am not heir to the throne, but his hero’s journey and historical background have always resonated with me.

There are other Characters, too, but these two really stand out from the story, for me.

Why?

I am going to use my values, identities, lifetime dream goals, astrological birth chart, and tarot card insights to describe this.

My top 5 aspirational values that I recently wrote about are:

• Health (vibrant, energetic, fit, and a youthful vitality)

• Professor of a Highway to Yeah

• Get The Band Back Together (songwriting, performance, recording)

• Fun in the Sun with Friends and Family (deep, joyful connections and shared experiences)

• An Ideal Geography (movement, wandering, traveling, going, returning, multiple homes)

• A Worthy Quest

Okay, Now let’s talk about the characters in the time remaining.

and I will do that from the perspective of my astrological chart and tarot cards that correspond.

Astrologically, I have a huge Stellium of my Sun, Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury in the 12th house (ruled by Pisces and the planet Neptune).

What does this mean?

That both Bilbo and Aragorn myths originate there.

Thus, they share the characteristics of The Hermit tarot card.

From there, they must embark on their own unique heroic journeys.
